All-electric Vehicles the way to go
While plug-in electric hybrid vehicles are good for the odd long trip, a pure electric vehicle will cover over 
90% of the trips the average North American makes. Electric vehicles are available today, Think City , which travel over 100 miles (170 km) before needing a recharge and have top speeds over 60 mph (105 km/h).
Several more pure electric plug-in vehicles are about to go into production, which boast even longer distances before recharge and great speeds, such as the Aptera Local and Oscar.
Local governments are even getting on board to offer tax incentives and introduce by-laws to permit some of the slower electric vehicles to access suburban roads.
All moves in the right direction….
