Beware of GreenWashing
There’s a lot of greenwashing going on now that businesses have figured out that “green sells”. The number of environment claims for products skyrockets as general interest in the environment peaks. It’s a challenge for consumers to figure out which products are as environmentally responsible as they claim to be.
Enter Ecologo, North Amercia’s oldest and most respected stamp of environmental approval. Established in 1988, it sets standards and certifies genuinely green products in more than 120 categories. This program has been administered by TerraChoice Environmental Marketing since 1995. They presently have a great awareness program running that points out “6 sins of greenwashing”…. definately worth a visit to learn the tricks of the trade.
