DIY Vertical Axis Wind Turbine VAWT
Follow along as we build our first Vertical Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT). Our design uses bicycle rims and PVC pipes, much the same as the V10 by Faroun. We are making our VAWT shorter and wider however, with a height of 5 feet rather than 10 and using 26 inch rims rather than 12 inch rims. We also intend to gear up our treadmill motor, but have concerns with the impact on start-up wind speed.
Why not drop by once a week and follow along.. DIY VAWT

HI Bruce,
Thank you for the VAWT DIY, it seems very informative and easy enough to follow.
I am Just checking back in to see how your experiment is going with the VAWT.
I kind of want to start my own VAWT experiment, but want to base it off of this design pending your outcome.
Thanks
Randy
