Kyoto means a lower standard of living

“Some” Kyoto supporters have no idea of what is required to meet their commitment to the accord. Many are aware,  that a very significant reduction in the standard of living is required by the “developed nations”, including Canada, United States, Europe and Australia.

It can not be denied, that our planet can not support a human population where every person enjoys a standard of living equal to that now enjoyed by the developed nations. Thus we have two options, declare the citizens of the “developed nations” to be superior to all other people on the planet and thus the only ones deserving this standard of living. Or consider all people on this planet to have equal rights. I consider all people to be equal;  Women, Men, Africans, North Americans, developed nations and developing nations. The developing nations, with their huge populations, are rapidly increasing their standard of living. Canada, the United States and the rest of the developed nations, had better get on board and negotiate a universal standard of living that the world can support. Kyoto was a start for these negotiations. For the sake of your grandchildren, get on board.
