Natural Lawn Care
There are 5 parts to looking after your lawn. The first and most important is caring for the Soil.
Caring for your Soil
Look after your soil and it will look after your grass. If you do nothing else, at least:
- add compost once or twice a year. More often is better.
- aerate at leave every spring. Spring and fall would be even better.
- de-thatch in the fall if you have a build-up over a half inch think or an insect problem
- water only once a week and only if you haven’t had an inch of rain. Soak the soil down to the bottom of the root level.
- don’t cut the grass any shorter than 3 inches
These simple steps will go a long way to giving you a green and healthy lawn. For a more indepth look at these steps including weed and insect control, read this article on lawn care from GreenTerraFirma.com
