Obama’s Environmental Promises

Obama’s Environmental Promises
During the USA election campaign, several promises were made regarding the environment and climate change. Time will tell, as to which promises Obama will keep. Let’s hope that some of the big issues are addressed quickly.
Cap and Trade
Obama said he will reduce carbon emissions by 80% of 1990 levels by the year 2050. A Cap and Trade system would be the prime mover for this reduction.
Energy Policy
Obama is against off shore oil drilling and in support of incentives for Solar and WInd production. Let’s hope we see very quick implementation of Al Gore’s dream – 100% Green Electrical Grid.
Certainly we can feel better about the continuing talks towards a Post-Kyoto climate change agreement.
