Propane Conversion Kits for Vehicles – should we go there?
Like the 1970′s when the price of oil peaked, people once more are looking to install propane conversion 
kits on their vehicles. Should we go there?
On the plus side, propane burns cleaner, producing fewer greenhouse gases and providing improved mileage over gasoline. It’s also cheaper than gasoline!
On the down side, it’s still a fossil fuel, producing some GHG and smog. It’s also a very expensive conversion, at approximately $5,000. At this price, it’s only cost effective for fleets of light-duty vehicles, such as taxis, police, or utilities.
If you are looking at a $5,000 outlay for a conversion, take a 
seriously look at the plug-in electric alternatives that are coming online very quickly. If an electric add-on will power your vehicle for 30 miles and your average trip is less than 25 miles, your fuel mileage is VERY GOOD!
