Solar Power Workshop
Solar Power Workshop
I attended a Solar Power workshop tonight, hosted jointly by the local Thames River Ecological Association and our Post-Carbon group. Very informative meeting, provided by Jenn Gaudette of GoSolar and Simon Gill & Steve Pacifico from Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). Huge turn out at the meeting, twice what the place could seat and about three times what the facilities could park!
Good discussion on various ways to purchase solar systems, from individually, to small groups, to massive community bulk purchasing via RFP/RFQs. Cost estimates were provided for residential sized thermal and PV systems and Jenn covered the provincial and federal rebate programs.
Three London Ontario businesses were present to answer questions. They included the R.E. Store, ArcSolar and Solcan.
More to follow, once I have a copy of the excellent presentation.
Bruce Knight.
Follow-up: Here’s the presentation by Ontario Sustainable Energy Association (OSEA). A bit large (2 MB) it has 50+ pages of very useful information on solar thermal and PV. Though geared towards Ontario residents, the information is universal with the exception of the grants, SOP and Net Metering that is specificc to our area. Please take a look!
