Time for Nematodes?
Nematodes are nature’s way of effectively controlling the larvae stage (white grubs) of the Common Chafer, European Chafer, Japanese Beetle, Asiatic Garden Beetle, Black Vine Weevil, Strawberry Root Weevil, plus May & June Beetles.
If you need nematodes, now is the time to apply them – spring and fall, when the ground is at least 55F or 10C.
You basically mix your package of nematodes with water and spray on an already damp lawn. Water the nematodes in, so they work their way down to the grubs. You’ll usually need to water your lawn, of a couple of days after initial application. I try to apply nematodes when we have a rain forecast for a couple of days.
