Wind Turbines Make Great Science Project
There are several do-it-yourself wind turbine projects featured on the internet. Some are available in kit form while others give you a detailed parts list and instructions. The projects vary in size and complexity so any grade level can get involved. We have a good wind turbine project listed here for high school age students. It comes with a parts list so you can source everything locally.
Getting students interested, in a hands-on process, is more likely to add meaning to their “eco friendly” experience and last with them for some time down the road. As most parents will be working hand-in-hand with their kids, it has side benefits for you too.
